ILACHE Policy Committee M(IPC)

Today’s national policy environment provides a unique set of challenges and opportunities to reinforce Illinois’ commitment to higher education and expand access and support for diversity, equity, and inclusion. The IPC is responsible for monitoring the institutional, state, and federal policy environments that affect Latine higher education, specifically as these impact Latine students and families. IPC members are a dedicated group of professionals (We are open to students) with expertise in diverse areas of higher education who are committed to advancing ILACHE’s mission of expanding access, opportunity, and representation across all Illinois institutions.

IPC has completed work on the Latino Pipeline Framework that can be used by ILACHE and others to:

  • Provide a vision, framework, and serve as a practical guide for research and grant development.
  • Serve to guide institutional reforms and inform legislative agendas.
  • Initiate or support policy action, such as the recent Latinx studies high school proposal developed and facilitated by Dr. Joanna Maravilla and her colleagues.
